On July 31 I hung new work at Kalied . "Share Freedom" is a carnival style painting that represents the desire and ability humans have to supress and enslave.
"Beauty" is also a carnival style painting. What do you think it is saying?

This blog is late but better late than never, ae? I now have art hanging at Trieste on South First St. downtown San Jose. This show "2 in 1" showcases two styles art: a series of fantastic landscapes painted on canvas, and a series of three-dimensional shapes made from recycled materials.
The landscape paintings are part of an ongoing series that began many years ago.I continue to paint them because they inspire my imagination, enhance my feelings of happiness and calm, and stir my excitement to create.
The three-dimensional pieces represent my love of the Earth. Being a tree-hugger,I always reuse and recycle. This series of sculptures is made entirely from rescued materials. The core is made of Styrofoam collected from shipping packages, friends and even Dumpsters (which might be illegal, hmm). Then I apply a combination of old paint clothes, junk mail, phone books --- basically anything with natural fibers headed for the trash. Dipping these flexible materials in non-toxic glue gives them strength to hold interesting shapes. Finally, the piece is finished with "Aqua Brand" textures and paint which are non-toxic. The result is an environmentally friendly piece of art.

Slacking on the blog posts I have been. During April & May, my sanded style work was displayed at the beautiful & welcoming "Natural Look Spa"http://www.naturallookspa.com/. Kim, the owner, is helping artists by offering them the perfect place to show there work.

Carnival

Recently Ive been painting carnival images some of which are hanging at Borders Books located at 361 West El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA. This show will be hanging until the first week of November.

There are three places my work is on display, Books Inc. in Mountain View until October 9, Autopia in San Mateo until October 1, 2008, & Kalied in down town San Jose until further notice.

August 8 thru September 7 Borders Books

The show at Borders is a combination of fantasy landscapes, a sanded piece and a new variation of the Gigeresque. It is a heavily textured painting made of rescued items that were heading towards the landfill. The piece is made of environmentally friendly products except the primer. If anyone knows of a friendly primer please leave a comment. This Borders is the one located at 361 West El Camino Real in Sunnyvale CA.

August thru October Art Shows in Works & Kaleid

Currently, I have a piece of art in Works San Jose which will be hanging until September 13, that includes two first Fridays. Also I have space in Kaleid where I will change the art once a month until October 24, 2008. Kalied is located 88 South Fourth Street & Works is located right down the street at 451 South 1st Street San Jose, CA.

July Art Show at Clock Tower Conference Room

Thanks to Art Curator Dotti Cichon I have another show running July 7, 2008 through August 6 2008 at the Clock Tower Conference Room. This show features a couple of styles of art. The Gigeresque Style, photos of the Gigeresque and a few Sanded Style. The conference room is located on 237 N Whisman Road in Mountain View.

July Art Show at Books Inc.

I have an art show running the month of July in the cafe of Books Inc. in Mountain View. The show features a series of the Sanded Style art, which involves painting many layers with different colors and sanding them down to create a dynamic effect. Books Inc. is located at 301 Castro Street in downtown Mountain View, and the art show is located upstairs in the cafe.
